Abby Kohut, a.k.a. Absolutely Abby is the Lead Consultant and President of Staffing Symphony, LLC, a staffing consulting and expansion company. Abby graduated cum laude from the U of R in 1988 with a Degree in Psychology and a Personnel Certificate. She has spent the past 15 years in Human Resources, holding positions such as Senior Director of Recruiting for Kaplan, Inc., Interim Director of Recruiting for Continuum Health Partners, and Manager of Global Recruiting for Alpharma, Inc. Abby is an active speaker in the HR community and has recently won a Pinnacle Award from the Society of Human Resources for helping returning soldiers looking for civilian jobs.

In 2009, Abby created a website called AbsolutelyAbby.com where she teaches candidates secrets about the job search process that other recruiters won’t divulge. Her bi-weekly Career Wake Up Calls inspire job seekers to stay motivated as they continue their search for their ideal job. Abby has presented to over 100 job search groups and was interviewed on a variety of TV and radio shows and in other media about her books "Absolutely Abby’s 101 Job Search Secrets" and "Absolutely Abby’s Top 12 Interview Questions Exposed".

Abby believes that her experience at the U of R provided her with the much needed foundation to begin a successful career in human resources. While continuing her HR career, Abby has set a goal to help one million job seekers get back to work and is thrilled to have the opportunity to help fellow alumni and students in this Job Success Series!
